The Seattle Kraken began the 2025 NHL Draft in familiar fashion on Friday, once again spending their first-round pick on a center.

The Kraken then focused their attention on defense Saturday, using each of their next four picks on defensemen – while making a pair of pick-swap trades along the way.

Here’s a look at Seattle’s full six-player draft class:

Round 1, No. 8 overall

• Jake O’Brien | C | age 18 | Brantford Bulldogs (Ontario Hockey League)

The Kraken once again used their first-round pick on a center, drafting O’Brien with their No. 8 overall pick. It marks the fourth time in the Kraken’s five-year history that they’ve drafted a center in the first round.

O’Brien totaled 98 points (32 goals, 66 assists) in 66 games this past season for the OHL’s Brantford Bulldogs, while adding three goals and eight assists in 11 playoff games. That came after he earned OHL Rookie of the Year honors while playing for Brantford in 2023-24.

Round 2, No. 36 overall (from PHI)

* TRADE: The Kraken dealt the No. 38 and 57 overall picks to the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for the No. 36 and 68 picks.

• Blake Fiddler | D | age 17 | Edmonton Oil Kings (Western Hockey League)

The Kraken swung a trade with Philadelphia to move up two spots and take Fiddler, the son of former 14-year NHL center Vernon Fiddler.

The younger Fiddler recorded 33 points (10 goals, 23 assists) in 64 games this past season for the WHL’s Edmonton Oil Kings. The 6-foot-4, 209-pounder helped Team USA to a bronze medal at the under-18 world championships earlier this spring.

Round 3, No. 68 overall (from PHI)

• Will Reynolds | D | age 17 | Acadie-Bathurst Titan (Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League)

Reynolds totaled 14 points (four goals, 10 assists) in 64 games with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan of the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League. The 6-foot-3, 188-pound defenseman doesn’t turn 18 until August, which makes him one of the youngest players in the entire draft.

Round 5, No. 134 overall

• Maxim Agafonov | D | age 18 | Tolpar Ufa (Russia Junior Hockey League)

Agafonov recorded 14 points (six goals, eight assists) in 35 games with Tolpar Ufa of the Russia Junior Hockey League. The 6-foot-2, 198-pounder helped Russia to a bronze medal at the under-17 world championships in 2023.

Round 7, No. 205 (from CBJ)

* TRADE: The Kraken dealt the No. 198 overall pick to the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for the No. 205 and 218 picks.

• Karl Annborn | D | age 18 | HV71 Jr. (Sweden’s junior league)

The 6-foot-1, 188-pound Annborn totaled 24 points (three goals, 21 assists) in 39 games this past season in the J20 Nationell, the highest level of junior hockey in Sweden.

Round 7, No. 218 (from CBJ)

• Loke Krantz | age 18 | RW | Linkoping Jr. (Sweden’s junior league)

The 6-foot-2, 192-pound Krantz recorded 17 points (12 goals, five assists) in 44 games this past season in the J20 Nationell.
