Here are all of the Rangers‘ picks from the 2025 NHL Draft in Los Angeles…

Round 2No. 43 pick: LW Malcolm Spence

The Rangers’ first 2025 NHL Draft pick is the 18-year-old Michigan commit, who is from Mississauga, Ontario, and has spent the past three years with the Ontario Hockey League’s Erie Otters. In 195 games from 2022-25, Spence totaled 177 points on 67 goals and 110 assists.

“Really, really happy and honored and excited to get going with the Rangers and hopefully see you guys soon,” Spence said.

Elite Prospects: When Spence is at his best with his motor at full throttle, he can take over games, connecting with teammates in the offensive zone, roaming the high slot, getting open at the right moment to unleash his one-timer, and relaying his passes to the slot after eluding defenders on the wall.

Round 3No. 70 pick: D Sean Barnhill

The 18-year-old Northeastern commit is from Scottsdale, Ariz., and totaled 12 points on four goals and eight assists in 54 games this past season with the United States Hockey League’s Dubuque Fighting Saints.

Elite Prospects: With a deep, balanced stance and quick feet, Barnhill denies rushes and then jumps up into the play. He matches the footwork of smaller, high-skill attackers with ease, and he rarely overextends. The skating appears most in his rush defence, where he makes some high-level stops with his feet moving after taking away the middle.

No. 89 pick: D Artyom Gonchar

The 18-year-old from Russia totaled 25 points on seven goals and 18 assists in 50 games this past season for the Minor Hockey League’s Stalnye Lisy Magnitogorsk.

Elite Prospects: Gonchar is capable of completing various types of passes, threading those precisely around opponents on breakouts. He prepares his feeds with skating moves to open lanes and misdirecting defenders, and he’s also capable of deception at the offensive line. Constantly activating, he freezes defenders with shot feints, attacks down, and relays passes to teammates or creates his own shots.

Round 4No. 111 pick: C Mikkel Eriksen

The 17-year-old from Norway spent the bulk of the 2024-25 campaign with Sweden-based J20 Nationell’s Färjestad BK J20 and totaled 43 points on 22 goals and 21 assists in 40 games.

Elite Prospects: Eriksen’s soft skills are his standout qualities. He’s a deceptive attacker who hides his intentions from defenders, often getting them to show their cards first before adjusting his plans accordingly. He’s very good at slowing the pace of the game down and delaying, waiting for the best play to present itself before executing.

Round 5No. 139 pick: D Zeb Lindgren

The 18-year-old from Sweden spent most of the past season with J20 Nationell’s SkellefteÃ¥ AIK J20, totaling 19 points on four goals and 15 assists in 38 games.

Elite Prospects: Skating is Lindgren’s calling card. He’s mobile, employs good posture, and gets plenty of power out of his strides. While he could play the game in a very different way, given his skating advantages, he profiles more as a puck-mover through passing rather than carrying. The skating is also a defensive asset, allowing him to get into position to interrupt chances and make well-timed pinches to keep the play alive in the offensive zone.

Round 6No. 166 pick: RW Samuel Jung

The 19-year-old from the Czech Republic totaled 32 points on 22 goals and 10 assists in 44 games for Finland-based U20 SM-sarja’s Kärpät U20 this past season.

No. 171 pick: D Evan Passmore

The 18-year-old from Elmira, Ontario, totaled 11 points on three goals and eight assists in 62 games this past season for the OHL’s Barrie Colts.

Elite Prospects: With his impressive range, Evan Passmore times pokechecks with precision, angles attackers to the wall, and brings plays to a halt. What makes his stickwork so effective is his understanding of that range. He allows opponents to exhaust their dekes and then counters with a well-timed swipe. Once he separates them from the puck, he envelops it, walling it off entirely.

Round 7No. 203 pick: D Felix Färhammar

The 18-year-old from Sweden spent most of 2024-25 with J20 Nationell’s Örebro HK J20, totaling 21 points on three goals and 18 assists in 43 games.

Elite Prospects: Färhammar is an active two-way defenceman with puck-moving ability. He has a physical edge to his game and plays the body whenever possible, creating breakups along the wall through pins and preventing multiple scoring chances from the slot across our viewings.
