Following an eventful first round where Matthew Schaefer went No. 1 overall to the New York Islanders, the 2025 NHL Draft continues on June 28 with rounds two through seven.

The Islanders made Schaefer their top selection after they were awarded the top pick at the NHL’s draft lottery, jumping 10 spots from their No. 11 pre-draw ranking. The San Jose Sharks followed with forward Michael Misa, then the Chicago Blackhawks took forward Anton Frondell to round out the top three picks.

The Nashville Predators took forward Brady Martin at No. 5 overall, their highest forward drafted since taking David Legwand No. 2 overall in 1998.
