The Penguins’ development camp wraps on Monday with a noon four-on-four tournament here at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex, with the winners taking home the Michel Briere Cup.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Now, this camp — even the tournament — is not an evaluation camp. The staff isn’t looking to identify “standouts.” It’s about getting to know the players, getting to know how they learn, and getting them comfortable around the organization.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Still, the Penguins’ prospects are looking to take advantage of tomorrow’s tournament and show what they can do.<\/p>\n
“I’m trying to show my strengths,” forward Ben Kindel told me today. “I’ll try and show my skating and show that I can improve in that, and try to show my hockey sense and just play my game.”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
“I mean, all I care about is winning,” forward Will Horcoff\u00a0said. “So, whether I play good or bad, as long as we win, whatever it takes to do that.”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
“Just, my compete, the way I play, you know, my hockey smarts and all that stuff,” forward Bill Zonnon\u00a0told me of what he’s looking to show. “I mean, I’m not really too worried about proving anything.
