{"id":125072,"date":"2025-07-15T01:06:10","date_gmt":"2025-07-15T01:06:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/125072\/"},"modified":"2025-07-15T01:06:10","modified_gmt":"2025-07-15T01:06:10","slug":"hurricanes-re-sign-skyler-brindamour","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/125072\/","title":{"rendered":"Hurricanes Re-Sign Skyler Brind\u2019Amour"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Carolina has taken care of one of its remaining restricted free agents as PuckPedia reports (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/PuckPedia\/status\/1944910150399353023\" rel=\"nofollow\">Twitter link<\/a>) that the Hurricanes have re-signed forward <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/brindsk01.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Skyler Brind\u2019Amour<\/a> to a one-year, two-way contract.\u00a0 The deal will pay him $775K in the NHL, $90K in the AHL, and has a guaranteed payout of $100K.<\/p>\n<p>The 25-year-old was originally a sixth-round pick by Edmonton back in 2017, going 177th overall.\u00a0 However, after playing his college action at Quinnipiac, he didn\u2019t sign with the Oilers, instead joining AHL Charlotte on a one-year deal for 2022-23.\u00a0 After putting up eight points in 54 games with them, Brind\u2019Amour inked a one-year, two-way pact with the Hurricanes for last season.<\/p>\n<p>Brind\u2019Amour spent most of 2024-25 with AHL Chicago and was a bit more productive than his professional debut, notching 16 goals and eight assists in 68 games.\u00a0 With Carolina sitting many players for the final two games to keep them healthy for the playoffs, Brind\u2019Amour was among the players recalled from the Wolves and he picked up his first career NHL goal in the final game of the season.<\/p>\n<p>Brind\u2019Amour will require waivers now to return to the minors but it seems unlikely that he will be picked up off the waiver wire.\u00a0 Assuming he passes through unclaimed, he will once again serve as recallable depth for Carolina in 2025-26 and will once again be a restricted free agent next summer.<\/p>\n<p>With the signing, the Hurricanes are now down to three remaining restricted free agents, all of whom primarily played for the Wolves last season \u2013 forward <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/s\/suzukry01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.prohockeyrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-07-14_hr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Ryan Suzuki<\/a> plus defensemen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/f\/fensodo01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.prohockeyrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-07-14_hr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Domenick Fensore<\/a> and <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eliteprospects.com\/player\/413245\/ronan-seeley\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Ronan Seeley<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Carolina has taken care of one of its remaining restricted free agents as PuckPedia reports (Twitter link) that&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":125073,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[5107],"tags":[194,29,5176,5,195,4,17843,405],"class_list":{"0":"post-125072","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-carolina-hurricanes","8":"tag-carolina","9":"tag-carolina-hurricanes","10":"tag-carolinahurricanes","11":"tag-hockey","12":"tag-hurricanes","13":"tag-nhl","14":"tag-skyler-brindamour","15":"tag-transactions"},"share_on_mastodon":{"url":"https:\/\/channels.im\/@nhl\/114854571845150433","error":""},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/125072","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=125072"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/125072\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/125073"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=125072"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=125072"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=125072"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
