No surprise given their recent history.

VAN needs to move out cap dollars first, + they’re actively working to do so.” Drance said.

In a recent article by Stephan Roget of Canucks Army, one name that was mentioned as a potential option for the club this summer is former Boston Bruins centerman Jakub Lauko, who became an unrestricted free agent on July 1st after they decided not to issue him a qualifying offer.

“It is the Year of the Rat in the NHL, and Lauko has developed a reputation as a decently effective agitator. He’s an adequate two-way fill-in guy in most senses, but perhaps the extra sandpaper could make him a little more interesting than the average replacement-level depth.” Roget said.

The Prague, Czechia native was traded by the Bruins last summer to the Wild for Vinni Lettieri, with a draft pick going each way as well, but after 38 games in Minnesota, he was shipped back to Boston at the deadline.

In 56 games between Minnesota and Boston, Lauko registered 11 points (five goals, six assists), 47 penalty minutes and was a minus-13.

After losing some grit and physicality by trading Dakota Joshua, Jakub Lauko could be a solid option to replace him in the bottom-six and he certainly wouldn’t break the bank either for Patrik Allvin.

Previously on CanucksDaily

POLL

13 MINUTES AGO | 4 ANSWERS

25-Year-Old Free Agent Centerman Linked as a Solution to Canucks’ Lack of Depth Down the Middle

Do you think that Jakub Lauko would be a good fit for the Vancouver Canucks?

      CANUCKSDAILY.COM
COPYRIGHT @2025 – ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
TERMS – POLICIES

                 …

[5128
894,5,2179,23793,4,550,893,27,23792,5692,5313
0":"post-134968","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-vancouver-canucks","8":"tag-canucks","9":"tag-hockey","10":"tag-jakub-lauko","11":"tag-jakub-lauko-canucks","12":"tag-nhl","13":"tag-nhl-free-agency","14":"tag-vancouver","15":"tag-vancouver-canucks","16":"tag-vancouver-canucks-free-agent-target","17":"tag-vancouver-canucks-news","18":"tag-vancouvercanucks
["GET
