A bear briefly chased the masco<\/a>t for pro hockey’s Seattle Kraken in a furry faceoff before the grizzly goon let the sea troll skate away unharmed.<\/p>\n

Buoy, official costumed cheerleader of the NHL’s<\/a> relatively new franchise<\/a> in Seattle, and Kraken forward John Hayden<\/a> were spreading their team’s good will<\/a> in Alaska and doing some fishing in Katmai National Park.<\/p>\n

That’s when the ferocious mammal appeared to go on the attack, forcing Buoy, Hayden and their line mates to clear the zone.<\/p>\n

“While we were fishing we got a couple close calls with a couple of bears,” Hayden said. <\/p>\n

The growling bear took several aggressive steps toward Buoy, but then dumped the chase. <\/p>\n

Hayden joked that the animal just wanted a closer look at Buoy, who was dressed in his normal game-time costume along with fisherman coveralls.<\/p>\n

“I want to blame it on Buoy. They were pretty interested in his whole look,” said Hayden. “We got out of it OK, but it was a close call.” <\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tA family of North American Black Bears at Woburn Safari Park in Ridgemont, UK explored the lake in their enclosure after it froze over.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
