Both forwards are seasoned veterans under contract with the Leafs for one and two more seasons, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>In a clip from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Adag7WO_G1I\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:\u201cLeafs Morning Take\u201d;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">\u201cLeafs Morning Take\u201d<\/a> podcast shared on Sunday, Rosehill said Kampf is a steady defensive forward but not a true difference-maker for a team looking to contend and needing more offensive production.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was never like super high on Kampf,\u201d Rosehill said. \u201cHe just seemed really quiet, which, okay, you could say that&#8217;s good. He\u2019s good in the D zone and good on faceoffs, but if we\u2019re talking about a team that wants to make a run, I think I need a little bit more.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rosehill also pointed to Kampf\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/david-kampf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:four-year, $9.6 million contract;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">four-year, $9.6 million contract<\/a>, considering it &#8220;pretty hefty&#8221; given his role and production.<\/p>\n<p>Versatility Pushes Calle Jarnkrok\u2019s Value Over David Kampf&#8217;s<\/p>\n<p>Rosehill praised Jarnkrok\u2019s ability to play multiple spots in the lineup and step into a second-line role if required.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Jarni, I have always liked,&#8221; Rosehill said. &#8220;But (he&#8217;s) getting up there in age, and it&#8217;s hard to be dynamic, and the league&#8217;s getting as good as it is. It&#8217;s kind of hard to invoke your will on the game as well.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Which one do I like more? I think Jarni is able to play through the lineup a little bit more. He was limited to 19 games last season due to a lower-body injury, scoring one goal and providing six assists.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Over the last three seasons, Jarnkrok has tallied 31 goals and 36 assists in 144 games, including a 20-goal campaign in 2023\u201324.<\/p>\n<p>By comparison, Kampf has recorded 20 goals and 39 assists in 219 games over the same span, never reaching double digits in goals for a single season.
