\t\t\t\t\tAn NHL insider has revealed what needs to happen for the New Jersey Devils to land Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes<\/a>, whether it’s via trade or as a UFA in 2027.<\/p>\n In less than two years from now, Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent and could possibly leave British Columbia, but it’s still way too early to fully know what his plans are.<\/p>\n While a contract extension could be a possibility next summer, there’s also a chance that he could wait things out and sign with the New Jersey Devils in the summer of 2027, which is something that Jim Rutherford spoke about<\/a> back in April, saying it may not come down to money or term with their captain.<\/p>\n “It may not boil down to money with [Quinn]. He said before he wants to play with his brothers. That would be partly out of our control.
