The Dallas Stars<\/a> made a series of transactions Sunday as they begin to cut down their roster ahead of the regular season.<\/p>\n

The Stars loaned 14 players to the Texas Stars, their AHL affiliate, while four players were released from an amateur tryout and six were released from a professional tryout. <\/p>\n

The Stars also placed Kole Lind, Kyle Capobianco, and Antonio Stranges on waivers Sunday. <\/p>\n

All of the moves mean that two key competitions are still ongoing during Stars camp. Forwards Adam Erne, Justin Hryckowian and Arttu Hyry are all in contention for Jamie Benn\u2019s spot-while Dallas\u2019 captain is sidelined<\/a> (collapsed lung). Also, defensemen Alexander Petrovic and Vladislav Kolyachonok<\/a> are vying for the 7th and final spot on the Stars\u2019 defense.<\/p>\n
