We once again had quite a bit of action on the NHL waiver wire today, notably involving Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens.<\/p>\n

That said, there are new players available today!<\/p>\n

We have action on the NHL waiver wire, including a big surprise<\/p>\n

Since the Montreal Canadiens have the sixteenth pick (for claiming players off waivers), please note that there are indeed two surprises today among the available names.<\/p>\n

Not only is he a good young promising forward, but above all, he is the son of Carolina Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind’Amour.<\/p>\n

It’s really surprising to see the Canes place him on waivers!<\/p>\n

Let’s just say it would be quite ironic to see another team claim him, and to see another team help him blossom in the NHL!<\/p>\n

It’s a bit like if Oliver Kapanen<\/a> were Martin St-Louis’ son, and the Montreal Canadiens immediately placed him on waivers.<\/p>\n

A story to follow, but I really can’t wait to see if Brind’Amour will be claimed tomorrow!<\/p>\n

The other surprise is, of course, Quebec forward Nicolas Aub\u00e9-Kubel, who could be a nice option for Kent Hughes, especially if the Habs were to lose someone like Samuel Blais<\/a> on waivers.<\/p>\n

Skyler Brind’Amour is a left-handed centerman, standing 6-foot-2 and weighing 195 pounds, who has collected 1 point in two NHL games.<\/p>\n
