Adam Fox\u2019s charity pledge this season is one that hits incredibly close to home.<\/p>\n
The Rangers defenseman is vowing to donate $1,023 for every goal he scores and $523 for every assist he registers this season to Tackle ALS in honor of his father-in-law, Tim Green, a former NFL star, lawyer and author who was diagnosed with the illness in 2016.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a blessing to be in a position to have a little impact, and I think it\u2019s important to take advantage of that,\u201d Fox told The Post on Saturday while sitting in his stall at MSG Training Center. \u201cI\u2019m only going to be in this position for so long to go do that, and I think it\u2019s just something that is near and dear to me. Obviously, this is something that from what I\u2019ve learned is a pretty brutal illness, but one that, sadly more recently, has become \u2014 but also positive \u2014 more awareness to it. You hear about more cases of people getting it.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think it\u2019s just something that I\u2019ve tried to bring awareness to, try to help out families that are impacted by it, as well.
