The Boston Bruins<\/a> made what is likely their final round of roster cuts before their 2025-26 season opener.<\/p>\n

Jonathan Aspirot, Matej Blumel, Michael DiPietro and Alex Steeves were placed on waivers for the purpose of assignment to Providence.<\/p>\n

Matt Poitras was assigned to the AHL and will report to Providence training camp.<\/p>\n

Blumel, who the Bruins signed over the summer, impressed throughout training camp and earned high praise from coach Marco Sturm<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s an interesting guy. We played against him,\u201d Sturm said<\/a>. \u201cHe\u2019s one of those guys. We had to make sure we\u2019re gonna cover this guy because he\u2019s such a good shooter and scorer, especially on the power play.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was so dangerous, so we really had to pre-scout him, and whenever he\u2019s on the ice, because he was that dangerous.\u201d<\/p>\n

Blumel\u2019s 39 goals last season led the AHL.<\/p>\n

DiPietro will be one player to watch on waivers. The goalie signed a two-year contract with Boston this summer<\/a>. On a recent episode of \u201c32 Thoughts<\/a>,\u201d NHL insider Elliotte Friedman said he had \u201cno doubt\u201d teams would look hard at DiPietro.<\/p>\n

Poitras didn\u2019t have a great camp and failed to stand out among the other forwards. He\u2019ll continue to develop his game at the AHL level.<\/p>\n

Sunday\u2019s cuts seemingly mean Johnny Beecher, Jeffrey Viel and Jordan Harris made the Bruins roster.<\/p>\n

The Bruins open their season on the road on Wednesday against the Washington Capitals before hosting the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday at TD Garden. <\/p>\n
