A Penticton Vees rookie forward has nabbed one of WHL’s top weekly honours following a seven-point outburst in three games last weekend.<\/p>\n
Jacob Kvasnicka, who was drafted by the New York Islanders in the seventh round of the 2025 NHL draft, was named WHL Rookie of the Week on Oct. 6.<\/p>\n
The 18-year-old product of Burnsville, Minn., scored three goals and added four assists from Oct. 3 to 5, as the Vees secured three straight\u00a0wins, beating Portland, Seattle and Wenatchee in succession.<\/p>\n
It was on Saturday, Oct. 4, when\u00a0Kvasnicka’s star shone brightest as he tallied four points in the Vees’ 10-4 rout of Seattle at the South Okanagan Events Centre (SOEC).<\/p>\n
Kvasnicka has four goals and 10 points in seven games this season for Penticton (4-2-0-1).<\/p>\n
The Vees are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 11, as they host the Kelowna Rockets (2-1-0-0) at the SOEC.<\/p>\n
It will mark the third meeting this season between the Okanagan rivals, with Kelowna taking the first two on Sept. 26 and 27.<\/p>\n
