Whether Malkin does so with the Panthers themselves as they look to bandage the hole left by Aleksander Barkov, or with another contender looking for center depth like the Toronto Maple Leafs or Vancouver Canucks, teams will certainly consider acquiring the 39-year-old.

-Scott Maxwell

Evgeni Malkin Is In the Final Year of His Contract in Pittsburgh

Malkin has been with the Penguins since he was taken 2nd overall behind Alex Ovechkin by Pittsburgh in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

He’s helped them to 3 Stanley Cups, and also won the Conn Smythe Trophy in 2009 as the MVP of the postseason.

A trade to the Panthers would make logistical sense considering he has a home in Miami, and Florida also recently lost captain Aleksander Barkov for the entire year with an ACL/MCL injury.

The Maple Leafs and Canucks would also represent better chances for Malkin to lift the Stanley Cup once more before he inevitably retires.

Previously on HouseOfHockey

      HOUSEOFHOCKEY.NET
COPYRIGHT @2025 – ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
TERMS – POLICIES

NHL Analyst Puts Three Teams Forward in Possible Evgeni Malkin Trade Photo credit: The Herald Star NHL analyst…

[377
1495,15628,5,14978,100,38325,38324
0":"post-240163","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-hockey","8":"tag-evgeni-malkin","9":"tag-evgeni-malkin-contract","10":"tag-hockey","11":"tag-nhl-trade-rumours","12":"tag-pittsburgh-penguins","13":"tag-pittsburgh-penguins-trade-rumours","14":"tag-scott-maxwell
["GET
