The Franklin Tech field hockey team advanced to the Western Massachusetts Class C title game after downing Mohawk, 1-0, at home on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Kailey Steiner scored for the Eagles, following an assist from Abi Dobias, as the hosts will matchup with No. 1 West Springfield in the final on Saturday.<\/p>\n
The Class C championship will commence at 3 p.m.<\/p>\n
Class A<\/p>\n
Frontier 4, East Longmeadow 1 \u2014 The Red Hawks punched their ticket to the Class A final after beating the Spartans at home.<\/p>\n
Macy DeMaio (two goals), Ashlie Galenski and Haly Doucette-Kaplan scored for Frontier, while goalie Brooke Charest collected nine saves.<\/p>\n
The Red Hawks will play No. 1 Longmeadow in the championship on Saturday at West Springfield at 5 p.m.<\/p>\n

East Longmeadow 3, Frontier 1 \u2014 Twenty-six combined kills from Greta Hale and Caitlin Maio wasn\u2019t enough as the Red Hawks were knocked out in the seminfinal round of the Western Mass. tournament.<\/p>\n
\u201cNot the outcome we wanted, but tonight was some of the best volleyball I\u2019ve seen my team play all season,\u201d Frontier head coach Courtney Parent said. \u201cI feel very proud to be their coach.\u201d<\/p>\n
Set scores concluded at 22-25, 25-17, 23-25, 16-25.<\/p>\n
Class D<\/p>\n
PVCA 3, Turners 0 \u2014 On short rest, the Thunder couldn\u2019t knock off the No. 1 seed in the semifinals, a day after its opening-round sweep.<\/p>\n
The defeat was just Turners\u2019 second in its last 10 matches.<\/p>\n

Mount Greylock 9, Greenfield 0 \u2014 The Green Wave bowed out early, falling to the top-seeded Mounties on the road in the quarterfinal round.<\/p>\n
Greenfield\u2019s losing streak extended to seven straight after the loss.<\/p>\n

Athol 3, Monument Mtn. 1 \u2014 The Bears were on track to complete the sweep, but dropped a competitive third set, forcing a fourth frame.<\/p>\n
Gianna Vaillancourt (seven kills, 10 assists, 10 digs) and Ella Reed (four kills, five assists, four digs) played well for Athol.<\/p>\n
Set scores finished at 25-16, 27-25, 22-25, 25-13.<\/p>\n
SICS 3, Mahar 0 \u2014 Madelynn Burgess\u2019 strong night wasn\u2019t enough for the Senators.<\/p>\n
Burgess was all over the stat-sheet, totaling a dig, two blocks, six kills, two aces and nine assists for Mahar.<\/p>\n
Set scores were 22-25, 18-25, 26-28.<\/p>\n
Girls soccer<\/p>\n
Mahar 2, SICS 0 \u2014 The Senators\u2019 goaltending duo of Mackenzie Matthews and Autumn Cleveland combined for the shutout. Six saves were had between the two netminders.<\/p>\n
Lexi Ares and Addy Almeida each scored and earned an assist, pacing Mahar on offense.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was so happy to see the soccer gods reward the girls tonight,\u201d Senators coach Chad Softic said. \u201cThey have been battling all year and lost a ton of one-goal games and had several scoreless ties, so to see the ball go in the net was great.\u00a0 Credit to our back four of Cordelia Rhodes (sweeper), Jenna Nolette (stopper), Stella Moore and Isla Burnham who have been rock-solid all season. Autumn Cleveland came in and played great for Kenzie who was nicked up. Lexi and Addy will be a combination for years to come and it was just a great team effort with so many girls contributing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Turners, 3, Pioneer 0 \u2014 The Thunder rolled past the Panthers in the quarterfinal-round sweep.<\/p>\n
Abby Moffatt (six aces,\u00a012 digs), Maddie Dietz (12 assists, ace, four digs), Janelle Massey (three aces, seven kills, five digs) and Shelby Beck\u00a0(ace, five kills) all stepped up for Turners, which won with set scores of 25-4, 25-21 and 25-20.<\/p>\n
Abbie Ray starred for Pioneer, posting six aces and 12 digs.<\/p>\n
