\nOne Oilers player may have played their last game in Edmonton last night <\/p>\n

\t\t\t\t\tThough neither Edmonton goalie played well last night against the Avalanche, it was one goal in particular against back-up Calvin Pickard<\/a> that epitomizes the Oilers’ season, and which could very well be the goalie’s last in orange and blue.<\/p>\n Team’s lack of effort displayed in bad goal against<\/p>\n The highlight shows Calvin Pickard making a half-hearted attempt to stick-out his pad, once he was clearly beaten. But it was the goalie’s lack of trying before the puck crossed the line that is inexcusable.<\/p>\n Stuart Skinner<\/a> finished the game with 4-goals against on 13 shots before being pulled with a .692 save percentage. Calvin Pickard was slightly better, allowing 5-goals on 21 total shots, or a GAA of .762, but not good enough.<\/p>\n He came into the game for Skinner and allowed more goals than what the latter was pulled for.<\/p>\n Yet, it was the entire game that needs to be wiped-out from the Oilers’ memory banks. Up and down the lineup, and in every shift, Edmonton was out-played, out-hustled and out-skilled.<\/p>\n It’s been 16 years since the Oilers have lost by eight goals, in 2009, and with their play last night, they looked like the team that would miss the post-season for 8-consecutive years.<\/p>\n The goals against the Oilers came fast and furious last night in Edmonton; but again, it was the Parker Kelly<\/a> goal against Pickard that sticks in the gut. It symbolized the lack aggression and push-back, a complete lack of response.<\/p>\n This isn’t the time to add more salt to the wound, and the Oilers’, simply put, are better than what they showed against Colorado, and will learn from the lobsided loss.<\/p>\n One thing is certain, changes are forthcoming, which will likely start in the goalie position.<\/p>\n Previously on Oilers Daily<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\tOILERSDAILY.COM
