\t\t\t\t\tGeneral Manager Patrik Allvin was candid about his captain Quinn Hughes<\/a>‘ future with the Vancouver Canucks with less than eight months until he can sign an extension.The future of Quinn Hughes in the Lower Mainland has been a big topic of discussion for several months now after Vancouver Canucks President of Hockey Operations Jim Rutherford made some eye-opening comments<\/a> on the matter at the team’s season-ending media availability in April.<\/p>\n “It may not boil down to money with [Quinn]. He said before he wants to play with his brothers. That would be partly out of our control. In our control if we brought his brothers here.” Rutherford said.<\/p>\n Since then, rumors have been swirling about what comes next for the Canucks captain, whether he’ll re-sign with the team – which can happen as early as Canada Day next year, if he’ll be traded before next season’s deadline or if he’ll walk to free agency in the summer of 2027, but Hughes isn’t too focused on that right now.<\/p>\n Patrik Allvin gets candid about Quinn Hughes’ future with Vancouver Canucks<\/p>\n On Saturday night, Vancouver Canucks General Manager was on After Hours with Scott Oake and Iain MacIntyre where the latter asked him about Quinn Hughes’ future with the club.<\/p>\n “Well it’s, first and foremost we’re extremely happy and pleased to have Quinn Hughes leading our team as a captain. I think his game today was probably one of his best games this year. Very dynamic and becoming a great leader for the team. So, I think that’s the excitement when guys extra energy and see the growth of the younger players here and I think that’s where you’re growing together as a team and will become stronger facing adversity here with a lot of injuries to key players and still being able to play at .500 and still being able to play some good hockey. I think that’s something that excites.
