{"id":314250,"date":"2025-11-21T04:10:10","date_gmt":"2025-11-21T04:10:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/314250\/"},"modified":"2025-11-21T04:10:10","modified_gmt":"2025-11-21T04:10:10","slug":"girls-hockey-blf-scores-a-shutout-against-dl-brainerd-dispatch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/314250\/","title":{"rendered":"Girls Hockey: BLF scores a shutout against DL &#8211; Brainerd Dispatch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BRAINERD \u2014 A second-period surge propelled the Brainerd\/Little Falls Warriors to a 5-0 Central Lakes Conference win over the Detroit Lakes Lakers Thursday, Nov. 20, at the Essentia Health Sports Center.<\/p>\n<p>The Warriors scored three second-period goals, two by sophomore Harper Moore and one by freshman Kaylie Glas, to take control.<\/p>\n<p>Moore\u2019s first goal came 21 seconds into the second period and gave the Warriors 2-0 lead. Allie Koop dished the assist.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I got that opportunity to take that shot, I put it on the net and it was a fun experience,&#8221; Moore said.<\/p>\n<p>Glas scored her goal three minutes later on assists from Rya Glas and Levi LeMieur.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith this group, I think they are so unselfish,\u201d Warriors\u2019 head coach Tony Couture said. \u201cThey don\u2019t care who scores as long as someone scores. I was happy to see (Kaylie) Glas get her first goal and Harper get two goals. It really paid off.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>      <a class=\"Link \" href=\"https:\/\/www.brainerddispatch.com\/sports\/prep\/warriors-athlete-of-the-week-haakonson-honing-her-offensive-skills-for-warriors\" target=\"_blank\" data-cms-ai=\"0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Elsie Haakonson<\/a><\/p>\n<p>       continued her hot streak with her fifth goal of the season at the 4:38 mark of the first period. Ellie Houle recorded the assist. BLF dominated the first period with 19 shots on goal to DL\u2019s seven.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe just wanted to keep plugging away and working hard,\u201d Couture said. \u201cWe knew that there would be some rebounds available. We continued to crash the net and look for rebounds. It was good to see.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the third period, Koop put the punctuation mark on the win with a goal four minutes in. It is Haakonson&#8217;s fifth goal in four games.<\/p>\n<p>Jeremy Millsop \/ Brainerd Dispatch<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a lot of confidence right now,\u201d Moore said. \u201cWe have a wonderful coaching staff that has put us where we are.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Junior Madi Ginter saved 12 shots to earn a shutout in her first start of the season. Detroit Lakes was without its starting goaltender Talyn Anderson. Paityn Solberg recorded 37 saves for the Lakers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI thought she made all the saves she needed to,\u201d Couture said of Ginter. \u201cAnytime you get a shutout in your first start, it is memorable. I have confidence in all our goalies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>BLF travels to Duluth Central on Saturday, Nov. 22.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey are going to be good,\u201d Couture said. \u201cIt\u2019s going to be a dogfight and I think it might be a little rougher game.
