The football teams started playing regularly in the ’60s, breeding generations of haters. Just attend one sporting event in Dallas with Philadelphia natives all around, and you, too, will be sucked in. Like it or not.

Anytime the Cowboys play the Eagles, old wounds are fresh and ripe.

Even food writers get into it.

When news happens, Dallas Observer is there —
Your support strengthens our coverage.

We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to you. The Michelin Guide published its first guide for the City of Brotherly Love just last week and overall, performed better than Dallas. Klein wrote:

“On the eve of another Eagles-Cowboys game, let me tell you a few ways Philadelphia is superior to Dallas.

The sports teams, of course. There’s the downtown walkability, the history, and the overall gritty culture (as in “this might be the best show of my life in a room that’s maybe not up to code” energy) [sic]

Philly’s food scene is superior, too. And now we have proof.”

Yes, Philadelphia scored three one-star Michelin restaurants in its inaugural season, compared to Dallas’ one one-star spot, Tatsu. We picked up a second one-star restaurant this year, but even that came with a little controversy.

Klein points out that even D Magazine knows our food scene is lacking, quoting Brian Reinhart’s headline, “Dallas, prepare to be underwhelmed,” regarding the guide’s picks for this year.

Keeping Score

However, what happened in the Cowboys-Eagles game at AT&T Stadium on Sunday was a bit different. After spotting the reigning Super Bowl champions 21 points in the first half, Dallas came back in the fourth quarter, the only quarter that matters, to win 24-21.

For the record, Dallas has a total of 25 restaurants in the Michelin guide, and Philadelphia has 33. The Eagles are 8-3 this season, and the Cowboys are a disappointing 5-5-1.

But you’re only good as your last at bat, and the Cowboys beat the Eagles Sunday. Also, the Dallas Stars beat the Philadelphia Flyers 5-1 in their matchup a couple of weeks ago.

As for our downtown walkability? OK, you can certainly have that one. As for rooms that “maybe not up to code,” we’ll punt.

To celebrate the Cowboys’ win, we’ll go to Cheesesteak House on Davis Street, where we can get queso poured over our cheesesteaks.

ARLINGTON, TEXAS – NOVEMBER 23: Dak Prescott #4 of the Dallas Cowboys reacts to a touchdown in the…

[5117
196,6832,147,5278,5,4,197
0":"post-321562","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-dallas-stars","8":"tag-dallas","9":"tag-dallas-cowboys","10":"tag-dallas-stars","11":"tag-dallasstars","12":"tag-hockey","13":"tag-nhl","14":"tag-stars
["GET
