Multiple reports confirm that the Philadelphia Flyers organization is aware of the incident and that Michkov came away from it unharmed. At first, it may have seemed like a car accident involving a rental car. It has now become much deeper than that.<\/p>\n
A Match TV report came out Wednesday morning saying that Michkov and his friend had their passports illegally taken by the rental car company. There was also a report that Michkov was extorted for $100,000 so that information would not be given to the media.<\/p>\n

Al Kathiri issued a statement to Match TV<\/a>. <\/p>\n \u201cMichkov was in the passenger seat, and the driver was in a sober state. No alcohol test was taken from Matvei, and he had not drunk anything either. From the point of view of the UAE laws, there are no questions to him. He has not committed any kind of offense on the territory of the Emirates,\u201d the statement reads. <\/p>\n The statement also confirms that Michkov and his friend have had their passports taken. It also confirms that the Flyers star is being extorted for a large sum of cash. <\/p>\n \u201cThe owners of the car rental service illegally hold the passports of two citizens of the Russian Federation. And this is a crime under the laws of the UAE. Moreover, the owners of the service extorted about 100 thousand dollars from Matvei so that information about him would not be disseminated in the media. There is evidence in the form of screenshots of correspondence sent to Matvei by the owner of the car rental company.
