{"id":331572,"date":"2025-12-01T01:18:13","date_gmt":"2025-12-01T01:18:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/331572\/"},"modified":"2025-12-01T01:18:13","modified_gmt":"2025-12-01T01:18:13","slug":"vancouver-canucks-organization-releases-cousin-of-three-time-stanley-cup-champion-patrick-kane","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/331572\/","title":{"rendered":"Vancouver Canucks organization releases cousin of three-time Stanley Cup champion Patrick Kane"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/619480.webp.webp\" style=\"width:100%;\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Noah Kane with the ECHL's Cincinnati Cyclones.\" title=\"Noah Kane with the ECHL's Cincinnati Cyclones.\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Photo credit: Hector Urcia\/InsideTheRink<\/p>\n<p>The Vancouver Canucks organization has officially released the cousin of a three-time Stanley Cup champion and future Hockey Hall of Famer over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Injury issues have wreaked havoc for the Vancouver Canucks and their two minor league affiliates this season, the AHL&#8217;s Abbotsford Canucks and ECHL&#8217;s Kalamazoo Wings to the point that all three have needed to find external help to fill holes on their respective rosters.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canucksdaily.com\/nhl-team\/vancouver-canucks\/vancouver-canucks-organization-announces-signing-of-former-ncaa-forward-cousin-of-nhl-legend-patrick-kane\" class=\"lien_marqueur\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">For the Kalamazoo Wings<\/a>, who sit at the bottom of the ECHL&#8217;s Western Conference with a 5-9-2 record through 16 games, they&#8217;ve gone through quite a few players since the start of the 2025-26 campaign and one player that they recently signed, who happens to be related to a current NHL legend, is now left searching for his next landing spot after being released by the club.<\/p>\n<p>Vancouver Canucks organization release cousin of three-time Stanley Cup champion<\/p>\n<p>A little over a week ago, in an attempt to bring in some much needed forward help for their group, the Kalamazoo Wings signed free agent forward Noah Kane, cousin of current Detroit Red Wings forward Patrick Kane, for the 2025-26 season.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Kalamazoo Wings, proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League&#8217;s Vancouver Canucks, announced Thursday that the team has signed forward Noah Kane to a Standard Player Contract (SPC).&#8221;
