Lindy Ruff, who coached the Sabres to some of their top moments in team history including their strong regular seasons from 2005-06 to 2006-07 and their trip to the 1999 Stanley Cup Final, is coaching for the second time behind their bench.<\/p>\n
He agreed to return to the franchise he coached for over a decade in 2024 after stops with the Dallas Stars and New Jersey Devils along as an assistant with the New York Rangers.<\/p>\n
But if the Sabres can’t figure things out, Ruff could very well choose not to seek an extension with the team – especially if they miss the playoffs for the 15th straight year.<\/p>\n
