The Edmonton Oilers<\/a> host the Philadelphia Flyers<\/a> on Saturday at Rogers Place.<\/p>\n

Edmonton enters the matchup playing strong hockey and leading the Pacific Division. The Oilers continue to lean on elite scoring and special teams to drive results.<\/p>\n

The Oilers saw their momentum slowed in a 6-2 loss to the Boston Bruins on Wednesday. After the game, Edmonton confirmed a key update on goaltender Tristan Jarry, who suffered a lower-body injury during the second period of a Dec. 18 win over the Bruins. The injury forced him out of the game and landed him on injured reserve. It came during his second appearance since arriving via trade from the Pittsburgh Penguins<\/a> on Dec. 12.<\/p>\n

Head coach Kris Knoblauch said Jarry will return around “mid-January \u2026 but not before that,” via Oilers TV host Tony Brar on X.<\/p>\n

The Oilers have turned to Calvin Pickard as their starting goalie since Jarry’s injury. Pickard has delivered mixed results but earned a key 3-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets on Monday. With Jarry sidelined, Connor Ingram was recalled from Bakersfield of the AHL to add depth.<\/p>\n

Edmonton sits at 20-15-6 and first in the Pacific Division. The Oilers average 3.34 goals per game and own the league\u2019s top power play. Connor McDavid<\/a> directs the attack and is tied for the NHL<\/a> lead with 70 points (24 goals, 46 assists).<\/p>\n

Goaltending remains a concern despite the team\u2019s success. Edmonton allows 3.32 goals per game and owns a combined .885 save percentage. That puts added pressure on the offense to stay sharp.<\/p>\n
