The face of the New Jersey Devils<\/a>\u2018 franchise will take the big stage in Milan at the 2026 Winter Olympics. Jack Hughes<\/a> was named earlier today to Team USA\u2019s Roster.<\/p>\n

It will be the second time in as many years that Jack is representing his country at a world event, except this time it\u2019s on a much bigger scale.<\/p>\n

Jack played for Team USA at last seasons 4 Nations Face-Off hosted by the NHL. The tournament consisted of a four-team round-robin tournament between the USA, Team Canada, Team Sweden, and Team Finland.<\/p>\n

At the 2026 Olympics, eight additional teams will take part in the tournament, including Germany, and Czechia, alongside qualifiers like\u00a0Slovakia, Latvia, France, Italy, Switzerland, and Denmark. Most notable, Russia has been excluded from the tournament.<\/p>\n

At last season\u2019s 4 Nations Face-Off tournament, Jack spent the majority of his playing time on a line with<\/a> Auston Matthews and Jake Guentzel. He tallied just one assist in four games played.<\/p>\n

This season, Jack is scoring at a point per game pace with 21 points (11g, 10a) in 21 games. Jack missed 18 games this season with an off-ice related injury, slicing his hand on glass at a team dinner that required surgery.<\/p>\n

At last season\u2019s 4 Nations Face-Off tournament, Brett Pesce<\/a> served as a Team USA injury replacement. He was not included on the 2026 Men\u2019s Hockey Olympic Roster, however. And although Luke Hughes<\/a> was invited to Team USA\u2019s orientation, the 22-year-old defenseman likewise did not make the cut.<\/p>\n

Although Jack won\u2019t play with his brother in New Jersey just yet, after he was recently traded to the Minnesota Wild, he and Quinn Hughes<\/a> will suit up together in the red, white, and blue as the eldest Hughes brother was one of the first six players to be named, which also includes Matthews, Brady Tkachuk, Matthew Tkachuk, Charlie McAvoy, and Jack Eichel.<\/p>\n
