Saturday night will be the second and final meeting between the two teams that faced off for the 2011 Stanley Cup Final; Vancouver took the meeting in Boston, by way of a shootout, but handed the Bruins their second loss in a six-game losing streak. <\/p>\n<p>The day has been, and will continue to be, filled with international hockey news and play. Earlier this morning, three nations announced who will be suiting up at the 2026 Olympic Games. Then, the afternoon kicks off a five-game day at the World Juniors in Minnesota. <\/p>\n<p>The Winter Classic is on tonight, and it comes, for the first time, from Miami, Florida. The NHL has a plan in place to keep the ice cool, and the retractable roof will be open ahead of the game later. The Bruins are in Tampa, FL, on February 1 for another outdoor game in Florida. <\/p>\n<p>Boston Bruins<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bostonhockeynow.com\/2026\/01\/02\/three-bruins-named-olympic-teams-friday\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">On Friday morning<\/a>, three national teams announced their rosters for the 2026 Olympics in Milan. Three Bruins, one on each team, were named, joining the three (McAvoy, Pastrnak, Zacha) who were named in the summer.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/jeremy-swayman\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jeremy Swayman<\/a> (USA), <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/elias-lindholm\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Elias Lindholm<\/a> (Sweden), and <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/henri-jokiharju\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Henri Jokiharju<\/a> (Finland) will represent their home countries at the Olympics. All three of them played in the Four Nations Faceoff last February.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The men\u2019s tournament begins on February 11, then the United States and Canada will open on February 12.<\/p>\n<p>After a day off on Thursday, the World Juniors will resume today. The relegation game will open the slate of games, and then four quarterfinal matchups will fill the remainder of the day. The United States, highlighted by <a href=\"https:\/\/bostonhockeynow.com\/2025\/12\/25\/three-bruins-prospects-set-for-world-juniors\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">two Bruins prospects<\/a>, drew Finland in the first round. The game will come from St. Paul, MN, at 6:00 PM ET on the NHL Network.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Will Zellers led the United States <a href=\"https:\/\/bostonhockeynow.com\/2025\/12\/31\/bruins-prospects-round-out-group-stage-world-juniors\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">through the group stage<\/a> with five goals and seven points.<\/p>\n<p>NHL News &amp; National Hockey Now<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhl.com\/news\/topic\/olympics\/united-states-2026-winter-olympic-hockey-team-at-a-glance\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NHL.com<\/a>: The United States announced the roster that it will be taking to the 2026 Winter Olympics. Two Bruins, <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/charlie-mcavoy\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Charlie McAvoy<\/a> and Jeremy Swayman, made the final cut and will make their first Olympic appearance together. <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/seth-jones\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Seth Jones<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/clayton-keller\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Clayton Keller<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/tage-thompson\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tage Thompson<\/a> have been added to the roster. However, from the Four Nations Faceoff, <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/adam-fox\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Adam Fox<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/chris-kreider\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chris Kreider<\/a> are not on the team.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhl.com\/news\/topic\/olympics\/finland-2026-winter-olympic-hockey-team-at-a-glance\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NHL.com<\/a>: Finland\u2019s roster was also revealed on Friday morning. The 25-man roster features one non-NHLer, <a href=\"https:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/mikko-lehtonen\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mikko Lehtonen<\/a> (ZSC Lions, Switzerland), and welcomes back <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/miro-heiskanen\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Miro Heiskanen<\/a> to the blue line. <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/aleksander-barkov\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Aleksander Barkov<\/a>, who is out for the regular season, will not be playing for Finland in February. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhl.com\/news\/topic\/olympics\/sweden-2026-winter-olympic-hockey-team-at-a-glance\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NHL.com<\/a>: Sweden\u2019s roster features a few changes when compared to the Four Nations Faceoff. Team Sweden named <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/gabriel-landeskog\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Gabriel Landeskog<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/pontus-holmberg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Pontus Holmberg<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/philip-broberg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Philip Broberg<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/jesper-wallstedt\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jesper Wallstedt<\/a> to its roster. Although with the changes, <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/viktor-arvidsson\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Viktor Arvidsson<\/a> was held off the roster, as were <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/gustav-nyquist\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Gustav Nyquist<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/mattias-ekholm\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mattias Ekholm<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/linus-ullmark\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Linus Ullmark<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/floridahockeynow.com\/we-said-a-miami-winter-classic-would-work-for-years-here-we-are\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Florida Hockey Now<\/a>: The Winter Classic is on tonight at 8:00 PM ET, and it will take place at LoanDepot Park in Miami. Both the Rangers and Panthers took the ice for practice on Thursday. The ballpark does have a retractable roof, which will be opened ahead of the game; the forecast is calling for temperatures in the 50s.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sportsnaut.com\/nhl\/new-jersey-devils\/devils-news-tom-fitzgerald-gm-assessment\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">New Jersey Hockey Now<\/a>: Billerica\u2019s own Tom Fitzgerald has been on the hot seat, according to Devils fans. James Nichols, in a conversation with a former NHL assistant GM, dove into what Fitzgerald\u2019s tenure has looked like. There is context behind the Devils\u2019 struggles; injuries have limited the team. Fitzgerald has maintained solid relationships throughout his construction of the Devils, and when compared to others, the former executive said he has done a \u201cfairly decent job.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyfaceoff.com\/news\/give-him-the-puck-boston-bruins-will-zellers-is-having-an-unstoppable-world-junior-championship\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Daily Faceoff<\/a>: Will Zellers has been dominating the World Juniors. Steven Ellis looks at the performance from the Minnesota-native and how playing at North Dakota has helped him improve on his already ferocious shot.
