The United States released their roster for the 2026 Olympics in Milan, Italy. USA looks to win gold for the first time since 1980.<\/p>\n
On Friday, USA Hockey unveiled the 2026 Olympic hockey team<\/a>. Here are some of the notable names from the roster. <\/p>\n Notable Forwards\u00a0<\/p>\n Matthew and Brady Tkachuk:\u00a0 <\/p>\n Matthew and Brady Tkachuk, the Bash Brothers from the iconic Mighty Ducks Movies, come to life. The sons of United States legend Keith Tkachuk have both missed significant time with their injuries. A big part of Team USA\u2019s success this tournament will be predicated on the Tkachuk brothers\u2019 ability to make an impact physically and on the box score.\u00a0<\/p>\n Matthew Boldy:<\/p>\n The Milford, Massachusetts native is currently the United States\u2019 leading point getter halfway through the season. Boldy was a member of the 2021 World Junior team that brought home gold for the United States. He will look to do the same after being selected by his own general manager, Bill Guerin, to compete.\u00a0<\/p>\n Jake Guentzel:<\/p>\n Tampa Bay Lightning forward Jake Guentzel was a machine on Team USA\u2019s 4 Nations Face-Off squad. Guentzel finished the tournament with three goals, tied for first on Team USA. For the United States to win, Werenski must be the two-way monster that is seen in Columbus.\u00a0<\/p>\n Charlie McAvoy:\u00a0<\/p>\n For years now, Charlie McAvoy has been the United States\u2019 defensive and physical presence, while also contributing on the scoresheet. This season, McAvoy has 19 assists and 20 points on the year. Last year, he was named as an Alternate Captain on Team USA\u2019s leadership core. Because of Canada\u2019s selections prioritizing size over skill, McAvoy will be leaned on heavily.\u00a0<\/p>\n Quinn Hughes:<\/p>\n The best United States defenseman by a mile, Quinn Hughes will need to replicate his production, especially after joining the Minnesota Wild. With 30 points so far this year, he will lead the first pairing for the United States.\u00a0<\/p>\n Starting Goaltenders<\/p>\n Connor Hellebucyk:\u00a0<\/p>\n The reigning Hart Trophy winner as the league\u2019s best player, Connor Hellebucyk will be the difference between the pipes in this tournament. He will need to beat the allegations that he can\u2019t elevate his game when the lights shine brightest.<\/p>\n Notable Omissions:<\/p>\n Jason Robertson:\u00a0<\/p>\n The Dallas Stars forward leads natives of the United States of America in points with 48. He is having one of his most productive seasons while having an above-average defensive game.\u00a0<\/p>\n Lane Hutson:\u00a0<\/p>\n While the United States has a very talented group of players on its blue line, leaving Lane Hutson out is head-scratching. The Calder Trophy winner has the most assists by an American defenseman and possesses some of the best playmaking ability in the league already.\u00a0<\/p>\n Spencer Knight:\u00a0<\/p>\n The Chicago Blackhawks\u2019 starting netminder has been nothing short of brilliant. In 11 games this season, Knight has finished with a .920 save percentage or higher in front of one of the youngest and most inexperienced defenses<\/a> in the league. His statistics are comparable to Jeremy Swayman\u2019s, but in completely different situations. It begs to question: how good could Knight could be on this USA team?\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
