MILAN, Italy \u2013 Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin will represent the United States at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina.<\/p>\n
The 29-year-old Waterford native will make his Olympic debut during the games, which run from Feb. 6 to Feb. 22.<\/p>\n
This marks the first time NHL players will participate in the Olympics since the 2014 Sochi Games.<\/p>\n
Larkin received his 2026 invite from U.S. general manager Bill Guerin ahead of the official announcement on Jan. 2 <\/p>\n
Larkin is the only Red Wing on the roster released Friday, but he\u2019s not the only player from Michigan.<\/p>\n
Joining Larkin are several other Michiganders, including Winnipeg Jets star goalie Connor Hellebuyck from Commerce and New Jersey Devils forward Jack Hughes from Canton. <\/p>\n
Larkin is also joined by three former University of Michigan teammates from the state. <\/p>\n
Jack Hughes\u2019 brother, Quinn Hughes, also made the team.<\/p>\n
Other Michigan natives on the roster include Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Zach Werenski from Grosse Pointe Woods and Winnipeg Jets forward Kyle Connor from Shelby Township.<\/p>\n
Team USA\u2019s first game is set for 9:10 p.m. ET on Feb. 12 against Latvia.<\/p>\n
The gold medal game will take place Feb. 22.<\/p>\n
