The Grand Rapids Griffins have had different heroes on different nights in their 27-1-1-1 start. But Sebastian Cossa\u2019s consistency in net has been a staple of the best start in American Hockey League history.<\/p>\n
He was there again Friday when he made a career-best 47 saves to help the Griffins record a 3-2 shootout win in a game they could have easily lost. Cossa (15th, 2021) tied Jared Coreau\u2019s franchise record for stops on home ice while raising his season record to 16-1-1.<\/p>\n
The Griffin extended their points streak to 17 consecutive games, the third-longest in AHL history.<\/p>\n
Other Detroit prospects made significant contributions, including defenseman Antti Tuomisto (35th, 2019) who forced the game into overtime by scoring a tying goal with 2:14 minutes left in regulation.<\/p>\n
