Bo Horvat<\/a> has been ruled out for the next week and will be reevaluated after that, the New York Islanders<\/a> announced Friday.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s not going to play this week, and we\u2019re going to evaluate him after the week,\u201d Islanders coach Patrick Roy<\/a> said.<\/p>\n

Horvat will miss Saturday\u2019s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs<\/a> and matchups against the New Jersey Devils<\/a> and Nashville Predators<\/a> next week.<\/p>\n

The injury he suffered Thursday is not believed to be serious enough to impact his Olympic availability for Team Canada, TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun reports. <\/p>\n

The New York Islanders<\/a> forward sustained what appeared to be a lower-body injury in a 7-2 loss to the Utah Mammoth<\/a>. Islanders head coach Patrick Roy<\/a> said\u00a0there was\u00a0no immediate update postgame and that Horvat would see a doctor on Friday.<\/p>\n

Horvat was forced to leave the game in the third period after he was hit by Mammoth defenceman Sean Durzi<\/a>. The 30-year-old\u00a0centre\u00a0awkwardly fell to the ice but was able to leave the ice on his own.<\/p>\n

Sounds like Bo Horvat\u2019s injury isn\u2019t too serious. Certainly not when it comes to Olympic implications. Good news for Team Canada \ud83c\udde8\ud83c\udde6<\/p>\n

Horvat, who was among the final 19 players named to Team Canada on Wednesday, has 21 goals and 12 assists in 37 games this season.<\/p>\n

He missed five games earlier this season due to a lower-body injury and returned this past Sunday against the Columbus Blue Jackets<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In 849 career games, Horvat has registered 290 goals and 304 assists for 594 points with the Islanders and Vancouver Canucks<\/a>.<\/p>\n
