Jordan Greenway\u2019s season had a lot of ups and downs.<\/p>\n
The Buffalo Sabres forward missed 10 games starting in the second month of the season in what was called a middle-body injury, returned for four games before getting surgery, returned again, then aggravated the injury in late March and missed the rest of the season.<\/p>\n
\u201cMentally, it can be tough,\u201d said Greenway. \u201cAn injury\u2019s an injury. There\u2019s not much, of course there\u2019s maybe some things you say I could do in the gym recovery-wise, but I don\u2019t know if there\u2019s a lot I could have done to prevent the injury.\u201d<\/p>\n
As far as changing his style of play following the injury? Greenway says that\u2019s not going to happen.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cIf I have a shoulder injury and I\u2019m back, a left shoulder injury, I\u2019m still going to go out and throw a hit with my left shoulder,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The 6\u20196\u201d forward averaged 11.4 hits per 60 minutes this season \u2014 the third most on the Sabres \u2014 had three fighting majors in 34 games and, when healthy, was a notable presence on the ice.<\/p>\n
\u201cI try to play a physical, power forward-type game. I try to do it to the best of my ability. Why was\u00a0I so effective at it? I don\u2019t know, I guess I\u2019m pretty good at it. I don\u2019t know,\u201d Greenway laughed.<\/p>\n
As for this summer, Greenway doesn’t expect the injury to linger or affect his offseason workouts.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cFor me, just in the rehab that I\u2019ve done and the workouts that I\u2019ve done was to basically get me to a spot to where I can go into the offseason ready to train, ready to do what I need to do to come back and be 100% effective at training camp,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Greenway says he looks to play in all 82 games next season \u2014 and some after that.
