Now, Sidney Crosby is a hockey legend.<\/p>\n

The Pittsburgh Penguins<\/a>‘ all-time great proved that in yet another way on Sunday. That’s when he called game on a 5-4 overtime win over the Columbus Blue Jackets<\/a>.<\/p>\n

First, Crosby assisted on the goal that forced overtime.<\/p>\n

And then in the extra period, Crosby finished it off himself.<\/p>\n

Remarkably, it was the 50th overtime point of Crosby’s NHL career. And no one has ever reached that mark before.<\/p>\n

The overtime rules have changed throughout the years, but not in such a way that has really changed Crosby’s output too much. The current 3-on-3 format does invite some more scoring, so that doesn’t hurt.<\/p>\n

But this is just as much about Crosby as anything. He’s just as adept at setting up his teammates as he is scoring himself.<\/p>\n

The life-long Penguins superstar is 38 years old now, but it doesn’t seem to matter. He’s having a special season anyway, and this milestone is just one more reminder of his greatness.<\/p>\n
