Defenseman John Klingberg was placed on injured reserve by the San Jose Sharks on Monday due to a lower-body injury.<\/p>\n
In a corresponding move, the Sharks recalled Patrick Giles from the San Jose Barracuda<\/a> in the AHL. Giles has played three games in the NHL this season, tallying one assist. A right-shot center that can win face-offs, really, that\u2019s what it came down to. There are some guys down there that are playing some pretty good hockey, but he gives us a little bit more depth down the middle of the ice.\u201d<\/p>\n Klingberg will be out through the Sharks\u2019 next two<\/a> games.<\/p>\n Shakir Mukhamadullin is dealing with an upper-body injury, according to the Sharks\u2019 head coach. The young defenseman did not participate in practice on Sunday or Monday, putting his status for Tuesday night\u2019s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets in danger.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s feeling better today, but I consider him day-to-day,\u201d Warsofsky said.<\/p>\n Mukhamadullin has missed a myriad of games this season due to minor injuries. Warsofsky said that none of his injuries have been related to the offseason shoulder surgery<\/a> he had. Mukhamadullin has missed 18 games for the Sharks this season, most of them due to injury. He has been a healthy scratch now and again.<\/p>\n Despite missing portions of the season due to injuries, the Sharks aren\u2019t worried about his long-term health. They feel Mukhamadullin has had a string of bad luck.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a little bit of bad luck, in a sense\u2014all different injuries. Part of being an athlete in professional sports, really, is you\u2019re gonna get you\u2019re gonna get nicked up throughout the season,\u201d Warsofksy said. \u201cUnfortunately for him, he\u2019s had a lot of it this year.
