Vancouver Canucks<\/a> general manager Patrik Allvin announced the appointment of Jack Johnson<\/a> as a pro scout on Monday.<\/p>\n

Johnson, 39 later this month, played 41 games for the Columbus Blue Jackets<\/a> in 2024-2025, the final season of a 19-year career.<\/p>\n

A native of Indianapolis, Johnson was originally taken with the third overall pick of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Carolina Hurricanes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He was dealt to the Los Angeles Kings<\/a> in the fall of 2006 and would go to make his NHL debut later that season.<\/p>\n

Johnson would go on to appear in 1,228 contests for the Kings, Blue Jackets, Pittsburgh Penguins<\/a>, New York Rangers<\/a>, Colorado Avalanche<\/a> and Chicago Blackhawks<\/a>. The defenceman was a member of the Avalanche\u2019s Stanley Cup-winning team in 2022.<\/p>\n

For his career, Johnson scored 77 goals and added 265 assists.<\/p>\n

Internationally, Johnson suited up for the United States on a number of occasions, including at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, where he won a silver medal.<\/p>\n
