Colorado Avalanche<\/a> head coach Jared Bednar told reporters Tuesday that both forward Gabriel Landeskog<\/a> and defenceman Devon Toews<\/a> will be out for the next while.<\/p>\n

Bednar said via Corey Masisak of the Denver Post that Landeskog will miss \u201csome weeks\u201d with an upper-body injury, though it\u2019s too early to tell if he\u2019ll miss the Olympics or be ready in time to play for Team Sweden. <\/p>\n

Toews is week-to-week with an upper-body injury and Bednar said he will miss a minimum of two weeks. However, he is expected to return before Landeskog.<\/p>\n

He said Devon Toews is week-to-week. Best-case scenario for him might be two weeks. He\u2019s expected back before Landeskog, though.<\/p>\n

Landeskog was injured and needed to be helped off the ice early in the second period of Colorado\u2019s 2-1 loss to the Florida Panthers<\/a> Sunday night. He lost his balance and crashed hard into the goalpost while skating toward the Panthers\u2019 net and appeared to be in severe pain after the play.<\/p>\n

Teammate Nathan MacKinnon<\/a> told reporters the injury was not to Landeskog\u2019s knee, referencing the injury that caused him to miss three straight regular seasons.<\/p>\n

Landeskog has seven goals and 22 points in 41 games this year for the Avs.<\/p>\n

Toews, who was named to Canada\u2019s Olympic team last week, missed Sunday\u2019s game after going hard into the boards legs first during Saturday\u2019s win against the Carolina Hurricanes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 31-year-old has one goal and 13 points while averaging 22:20 of ice time in 40 games this season.<\/p>\n

Colorado enters play Tuesday with an NHL-leading 69 points in 41 games.<\/p>\n
