The Philadelphia Flyers<\/a> hosted the Anaheim Ducks<\/a> on Tuesday night in Trevor Zegras\u2019 long-awaited first game against his former team.<\/p>\n

The Ducks traded<\/a> Zegras to the Flyers last summer, and the young forward didn\u2019t waste time in his revenge game against Anaheim. He scored twice in the first period, helping the Flyers build a 2\u20131 lead after 20 minutes on the way to a 5-2 victory.<\/p>\n

After the game, Zegras delivered what became an instant classic interview in the NHL<\/a> season, describing the feeling of scoring against the Ducks.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Expletive] amazing,\u201d Zegras said during a postgame interview for NBC Sports Philadelphia<\/a>. \u201c[Expletive] amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n

That wasn\u2019t all, as Zegras was asked about the meaning of his first goal celebration<\/a>, when he mimicked a phone hang-up. Zegras didn\u2019t hide the message behind the gesture.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s about how quick the phone call was before,\u201d Zegras said. \u201cSo I thought it\u2019d be good.\u201d<\/p>\n

Anaheim traded the 24-year-old forward in June after an injury-filled season with the Ducks and steady availability and fit issues during his five years in California. The Ducks originally drafted Zegras with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft.<\/p>\n

In his first season in Philadelphia, Zegras has appeared in all 41 games to date, scoring 41 points (17 goals, 24 assists) along with posting a plus-3 plus\/minus rating.<\/p>\n

After trailing early on Tuesday, Philadelphia scored four unanswered goals with Zegras opening the scoring for them at 10 minutes, 22 seconds, of the first frame. Zegras\u2019 second came on a one-timer near the right circle at 14:23.<\/p>\n

Cam York, Travis Sanheim and Nikita Grebenkin also scored for the Flyers in the second and third periods, while goalie Dan Vladar stopped 16 of the 18 shots he faced.<\/p>\n
