Edmonton Oilers<\/a> superstar Leon Draisaitl<\/a> and Ottawa Senators<\/a> top scorer Tim Stutzle headline the Team Germany roster for the 2026 Olympics in Milan.<\/p>\n

The top end of Germany\u2019s roster, released Wednesday morning, is heavy on NHL experience.<\/p>\n

Draisaitl, Stutzle, Utah Mammoth<\/a> forward J.J. Peterka, Minnesota Wild<\/a> forward Nico Sturm<\/a>, Detroit Red Wings<\/a> defenceman Moritz Seider<\/a> and Seattle Kraken<\/a> goaltender Philipp Grubauer<\/a> are all on NHL rosters this season.<\/p>\n

Draisaitl is fifth in NHL scoring this season with 60 points while Stutzle leads Ottawa in goals (19) and points (45).<\/p>\n

Vancover Canucks winger Lukas Reichel<\/a> and Tampa Bay Lightning<\/a> forward Wojciech Stachowiak<\/a> are the two players on the roster currently in the AHL, while the rest currently play overseas.<\/p>\n

Germany\u2019s best finish in Olympic men\u2019s hockey was in 2018 at the PyeongChang Games, without NHL players participating, when they took home the silver medal after losing 4-3 in overtime to the Olympic Athletes From Russia in the gold-medal game.<\/p>\n

The Germans also took home silver at the 2023 IIHF World Championships, losing 5-2 to Canada in the final.<\/p>\n

Denmark unveils Olympic roster<\/p>\n

Team Denmark also unveiled its roster on Wednesday with Carolina Hurricanes<\/a> winger Nikolaj Ehlers<\/a> leading the way.<\/p>\n

He is joined by four other NHL players in goaltenders Frederik Andersen<\/a> (Hurricanes) and Mads Sogaard<\/a> (Senators) as well as forwards Lars Eller<\/a> (Senators) and Oliver Bjorkstrand<\/a> (Lightning).<\/p>\n

This is just the second time that Denmark will be participating in Olympic men\u2019s hockey after finishing seventh at the 2022 Beijing Olympics.<\/p>\n

Denmark pulled off one of the biggest upsets in tournament history at the 2025 IIHF World Championships, defeating Canada in the quarter-finals, and finished fourth for their highest-ever finish.<\/p>\n

This is the first time since 2014 that NHL players will be participating in the Olympics.
