The Calgary Flames (18-21-4) are tonight\u2019s opponent, and they enter Boston on a three-game losing streak.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Boston went 2-2-1 on their five game road trip. They found themselves in the win column after games in Edmonton and Vancouver, but struggled to close out the trip in Seattle.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>David Pastrnak, after spending some time on the third line, will move back up to the first line to start tonight\u2019s contest. Pastrnak has seven points (4-3\u20137) in the last three games. His multi-goal game on Tuesday was the 76th of his career, tying him with Cam Neely for the most in Bruins history.<\/p>\n<p>Alex Steeves (0-3\u20133) is also on a three-game point streak. This point streak is the first of his career.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bruins Morning Skate Notes<\/p>\n<p>The Bruins held a morning skate at the TD Garden, closing the doors to the public as they returned from the West Coast.<\/p>\n<p>Marco Sturm took to the line blender ahead of tonight\u2019s game. <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/david-pastrnak\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">David Pastrnak<\/a>, who returned to the <a href=\"https:\/\/bostonhockeynow.com\/2026\/01\/07\/breaking-apart-bruins-loss-to-kraken\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">first line against the Kraken on Tuesday<\/a>, will remain there. However, he will be joined by <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/marat-khusnutdinov\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Marat Khusnutdinov<\/a>. <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/morgan-geekie\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Morgan Geekie<\/a> will play alongside <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/fraser-minten\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fraser Minten<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/alex-steeves\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alex Steeves<\/a> on the third line. Geekie is looking for his first goal since December 20.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/joonas-korpisalo\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Joonas Korpisalo<\/a> will get the start in goal for Boston; tonight marks his first appearance since December 27 in Buffalo.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to win a hockey game,\u201d Marco Sturm said after practice on Thursday. \u201cA lot of times, I feel like \u2018okay, who gives me the best opportunity,\u2019 and lately, it\u2019s been [Swayman] a lot. So, today, we got to rely on [Korpisalo]. He\u2019s been okay, too, but hopefully he\u2019s going to be better tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hampus Lindholm skated this morning; however, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=QGNZ6qG_x8c\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Marco Sturm said<\/a> that he will be out this week. On the other hand, Boston\u2019s penalty kill allowed three goals on Tuesday; they slip to 79.0% on the year and now rank 18th.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The penalties have been an issue for Boston, though. The Bruins rank first in penalty minutes (605), penalties taken (220), and times shorthanded (167). Since December 1, the Bruins\u2019 penalty kill has a 72.1% rate, ranking them 29th in the league in that time.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Bruins go from playing the league\u2019s worst penalty kill to playing the league\u2019s worst power play. Calgary\u2019s power play (14.1%) ranks at the bottom of the league; they have scored 19 goals on 135 opportunities.
