Ten of those came yesterday <a href=\"https:\/\/bostonhockeynow.com\/2026\/01\/10\/ten-goals-two-hat-tricks-bruins-dismantle-rangers\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">against the New York Rangers<\/a>; that was the Bruins\u2019 first time hitting that mark <a href=\"https:\/\/bostonhockeynow.com\/2026\/01\/10\/breaking-apart-bruins-ten-goal-showing-rangers\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">in a single game since 1988<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Saturday\u2019s ten-goal performance extended current point streaks for the Bruins. <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/david-pastrnak\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">David Pastrnak<\/a> had six assists on Saturday and has 14 points (4-10\u201314) over the last five games. <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/elias-lindholm\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Elias Lindholm<\/a> has seven points (3-4\u20137), and <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/charlie-mcavoy\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Charlie McAvoy<\/a> has six points (1-5\u20136) in the last five. <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/viktor-arvidsson\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Viktor Arvidsson<\/a> (1-3\u20134), <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/marat-khusnutdinov\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Marat Khusnutdinov<\/a> (4-3\u20137), <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/casey-mittelstadt\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Casey Mittelstadt<\/a> (1-2\u20133), and <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/pavel-zacha\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Pavel Zacha<\/a> (3-2\u20135) all have active three-game point streaks.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Pittsburgh is 7-3-0 in its last ten games, and just snapped a six-game win streak on Saturday. The Penguins currently sit outside of the playoff picture by a point (they are in if you go by points percentage).<\/p>\n<p>Tonight\u2019s game marks the return of <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/justin-brazeau\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Justin Brazeau<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/parker-wotherspoon\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Parker Wotherspoon<\/a> to the TD Garden. Brazeau was <a href=\"https:\/\/puckpedia.com\/trade\/951\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">dealt<\/a> to Minnesota for a package that included Marat Khusnutdinov, and Wotherspoon <a href=\"https:\/\/puckpedia.com\/signing\/9835\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">signed<\/a> a deal with the Penguins this summer. Instead, Marco Sturm will meet with the media ahead of the game to announce any lineup changes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It is the second game in a back-to-back, so barring any unforeseen circumstances, it will be Joonas Korpisalo in the goal. Jeremy Swayman played in Saturday\u2019s 10-2 win over the New York Rangers.<\/p>\n<p>Morgan Geekie and Elias Lindholm departed the game early on Saturday. They have scored five goals on the man-advantage in the seven games after the holiday break. The power play ranks fourth in the league. However, the penalty kill (78.9%) went one-for-two, allowing one of the two Rangers goals while shorthanded. Boston\u2019s penalty kill ranks 19th in the NHL.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, Pittsburgh has the second-best power play in the league (29.1%). They have also scored five goals in the seven games post-holiday break. The Penguins are also strengthened by their tenth-ranked penalty kill (81.5%).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Bruins have taken the most penalties in the NHL (229), and average 5.03 per 60 minutes.
