The Boston Bruins beat the Pittsburgh Penguins in shutout fashion on Sunday afternoon. <\/p>\n
However, it wasn\u2019t Jeremy Swayman between the pipes. It was 31-year-old veteran backup Joonas Korpisalo who denied all 27 Penguins shot attempts.<\/p>\n
Korpisalo improved his record to 8-8 on the year in his 16th start of the season. He had just an .888 save percentage coming into the game and was allowing nearly 3.50 goals against.<\/p>\n
However, Korpisalo has been stellar in the new year. He is now 2-0-0 with Sunday\u2019s shutout effort, building off of Thursday night\u2019s 4-1 win, where he saved 28-of-29 shots.<\/p>\n

With Boston coming off a 10-2 triumph of the New York Rangers, head coach Marco Sturm told NESN analyst Andy Brickley that it looked like \u201ctwo tired teams\u201d on the ice Sunday. But sometimes one is all it takes.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe try to teach them all season long; there isn\u2019t always an \u2018A\u2019 game,\u201d Sturm said. \u201cBut you can win with the \u2018B\u2019 game, and that\u2019s what we did tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n

Arvidsson was parked in front of the Penguins\u2019 crease and capitalized on a rebound to spring the Bruins into the win column. <\/p>\n Story continues below advertisement<\/p>\n Defenseman Nikita Zadorov was on the ice for Boston\u2019s game-winning goal.
