Carolina is 6-4-0 in their last 10 games while Detroit is 7-2-1.<\/p>\n
Both teams lead their respective Divisions and are battling for first place in the Eastern Conference.<\/p>\n

Detroit will be retiring the number 91 of Sergei Fedorov tonight.<\/p>\n
It is interesting that they are choosing a game against the Hurricanes to have this ceremony. I remember when Peter Karmanos, (original owner of the Hurricanes) got Fedorov to sign an offer sheet (1998) with some almost absurd numbers which Detroit owner, Mike Illitch had to match in order to keep his superstar.<\/p>\n
It caused a bit of acrimony between the clubs at the time.<\/p>\n
