Monday, the <a href=\"https:\/\/pittsburghhockeynow.com\/tag\/pittsburgh-penguins\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Pittsburgh Penguins<\/a> signed <a href=\"https:\/\/pittsburghhockeynow.com\/tag\/blake-lizotte\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Blake Lizotte<\/a> to a three-year contract extension. <\/p>\n<p>The contract will carry an average annual value of $2.25 million. <\/p>\n<p>The Penguins signed Lizotte to a two-year deal on July 1, 2024, after the LA Kings chose not to extend him a qualifying offer. He would have been an unrestricted free agent after this season. <\/p>\n<p>Lizotte, 28, has made a significant impact on the Penguins. The team\u2019s fourth line has risen from a weak point to a strength in the last couple of seasons. <\/p>\n<p>Not coincidentally, the team is 21-9-6 with Lizotte, who is a primary penalty killer and leaned on late in games. <\/p>\n<p>Last season, Lizotte tied a career high with 11 goals.
