\u2014 Cole Bagley (@BagleyKSLsports) January 9, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n Utah Mammoth players encourage fans to stop whistling during home games<\/p>\n The widespread whistling has become a repeated issue at Delta Center over the last few home games.<\/p>\n While the whistling has generally occurred throughout all three periods, it\u2019s become especially loud during the third period and players have taken notice.<\/p>\n \u201cAt times it is a little bit distracting when you\u2019re out there. Last game it really stuck out,\u201d forward Lawson Crouse explained.<\/p>\n \u201cAt times it is [distracting]. Especially when you\u2019re sitting on the bench and trying to follow the play\u2026it becomes confusing.\u201d<\/p>\n This isn\u2019t just a few fans whistling once, but a widespread problem that becomes deafening and impacts the players ability to focus on the task at hand.<\/p>\n Why is it such a problem?<\/p>\n Hockey teams will often use whistles to signal for line changes, call the goaltender to the bench during a delayed penalty or for an extra attacker or to communicate that a power play is coming to an end.<\/p>\n With all the extra whistling, the noise disrupts their ability to properly communicate.<\/p>\n Additionally, the whistling can also become confusing for the players as they struggle to distinguish the referee\u2019s whistle from the crowd noise.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s been pretty disruptive to be honest\u2026if they could quiet that down & do it after the game or before the game. A lot of us have noticed it & it would be better if it was not a thing,\u201d Captain Clayton Keller said on behalf of the team.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s pretty annoying.\u201d<\/p>\n Overall, the team as a whole would appreciate if the whistling would stop.<\/p>\n This isn\u2019t the opinion of one or two of the players but the entire team, according to many members of the organization.<\/p>\n \u201cWe had comments on the bench,\u201d Andre Tourigny explained. \u201cGuys were talking about that.\u201d<\/p>\n What\u2019s next for the Utah Mammoth?<\/p>\n The Utah Mammoth will continue their seven-game home stand against the St. Louis Blues on Friday night at 7 p.m. MT.<\/p>\n The game will be available on Mammoth+.<\/p>\n All Mammoth games will also be broadcast live on the KSL Sports Zone (97.5 FM\/1280 AM).<\/p>\n Cole Bagley is the Utah Mammoth insider for KSL Sports.\u00a0Keep up with him on X here<\/a>.\u00a0You can hear Cole break down the team on KSL Sports Zone and KSL 5 TV.
