{"id":407765,"date":"2026-01-14T20:03:10","date_gmt":"2026-01-14T20:03:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/407765\/"},"modified":"2026-01-14T20:03:10","modified_gmt":"2026-01-14T20:03:10","slug":"montreal-canadiens-forward-alexander-texier-reach-two-year-extension","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/407765\/","title":{"rendered":"Montreal Canadiens, forward Alexander Texier reach two-year extension"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/montreal-canadiens\/8\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/montreal-canadiens\/8\" target=\"_blank\">Montreal Canadiens<\/a> have signed forward <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/alexandre-texier\/8480074\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/alexandre-texier\/8480074\" target=\"_blank\">Alexandre Texier<\/a> to a two-year, $5 million extension, it was announced Wednesday. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The 26-year-old forward signed with the Habs on a one-year, $1 million deal after being released by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/st-louis-blues\/19\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/st-louis-blues\/19\" target=\"_blank\">St. Louis Blues<\/a> in November. His new deal begins next season and takes him through 2027-28.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">He has seven goals and 16 points in 25 games since joining the Canadiens after starting the year with just one assist in eight games with St. Louis. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Texier is a seven-year NHL veteran, having spent the first five seasons of his career with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/columbus-blue-jackets\/29\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/columbus-blue-jackets\/29\" target=\"_blank\">Columbus Blue Jackets<\/a>.
