UWS men’s hockey extends win streak to six with 3-1 victory over Marian<\/p>\n
Alexey Yarmulnik scored twice in the second period to lead the Yellowjackets past Marian 3-1 at Wessman Arena on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n
UWS came into the contest having won five in a row, with their last loss coming all the way back on December 6.<\/p>\n
In the first period, a shot from the half wall by Cole Carlson snuck under Jan Skorpik\u2019s pad to give the Sabres a 1-0 lead.<\/p>\n
In the second, Evan Axell would move in from the point and fire the puck top shelf to tie the score at one just 17 seconds into the period. Alexey Yarmulnik would score twice later in the period to put the Yellowjackets in front 3-1.<\/p>\n
Jan Skorpik stopped 26 shots and earned his sixth win between the pipes.<\/p>\n
The Yellowjackets will aim to make it seven wins in a row when they face UW-River Falls on Friday, January 23.<\/p>\n
