\u201cIt sucks. This is not an easy game,\u201d he said. \u201cEmotions go up and down, and you\u2019ve got to earn it, and obviously we haven\u2019t done enough to earn it. But [the players] shouldn\u2019t feel bad about themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n
At the same time, he focused more on a feeling of disappointment rather than the frustration and anger the players expressed.<\/p>\n
\u201cI believe frustration is just a bit of a wasted emotion,\u201d he said. \u201cFor me, disappointed is a better approach to take, because you can get back over that quicker. I think frustration can build too much. Maybe it\u2019s semantics, I don\u2019t know, but that\u2019s just how I think about it. But again, they have every right to feel the way they\u2019re feeling, because the good things that happened for us last year \u2014 maybe we got on the right side of some of them \u2014 they\u2019re just not happening for us thus far.\u201d<\/p>\n
Like so many other times this year, the Kings are holding onto whatever positivity they can take, in the form of belief that they\u2019re playing the right way.<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel like we have the right mentality going into every game,\u201d Kempe said. \u201cYou know, we\u2019re staying positive, and I think that’s the most important thing right now, that we\u2019ve just got to keep grinding and keep doing our thing.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t begrudge [the players] for being emotional, but we come back with the same effort, it\u2019s all we can do,\u201d Hiller added. \u201cI\u2019ve been saying it for a while. We\u2019re gonna get on a run.
