Three periods, an overtime, and a shootout later, Joel Hofer made 34 saves, proving well for the Blues, who ended the Tampa Bay Lightning<\/a>‘s franchise-tying 11-game win streak on Friday night in a Shootout from the Enterprise Center. The<\/p>\n

The Blues shatter the Tampa Bay Lightning’s win streak<\/p>\n

27-year-old Jordan Kyrou took the lone goal in the shootout for the Blues, handing the franchise their first win in overtime or a shootout, previously being 0-8 after regulation this season. “It feels great,” Kyrou said. “Obviously, we haven\u2019t done that all year. It feels good to get that one.”<\/p>\n

\u201cYou want those battles,\u201d Hofer said <\/a>about a final save from\u00a0Nikita Kucherov<\/a>‘s wrist shot in the third round of the shootout. \u201cLuckily, it went my way.” “I don’t think I’ve been very successful in shootouts before. It was nice to get a win, actually.”<\/p>\n

The Lightning started the new year undefeated, with 12 wins since December 18, when they lost to the Los Angeles Kings<\/a>, 2-1. The Lightning will travel to Dallas to face the Stars on Sunday, while the Blues will head to Edmonton to take on the Oilers on the same day.<\/p>\n
