It\u2019s been a less-than-ideal stretch for both teams: Philadelphia has fallen out of a playoff spot, and the Rangers, well, their plummet has gotten even worse. Both teams have lost four straight games in regulation, with an overtime loss to kick it off. <\/p>\n

Since the two teams have matching records over the previous five games, if you extend the window to 10 games, the Flyers have one more win than the Rangers, while the Rangers have an extra overtime loss. <\/p>\n

Saturday\u2019s game features two teams that desperately need a win. Puck drop is at 1:00 p.m. EST at Xfinity Mobile Arena.<\/p>\n

Things to watch <\/p>\n

The Rangers and GM Chris Drury released a statement, stating that the team is headed for a retool<\/a>. Saturday\u2019s game will be the first one since that statement was released. It will be interesting to see how they respond as a team. <\/p>\n

Speaking of responding, the Flyers have lost four straight ugly games \u2013 two on the road and two at home. They return home and will have a chance to right the ship against a team struggling as badly as they are. Can the Flyers find a way back into the win column? <\/p>\n

Matvei Michkov and Denver Barkey seemed to have real chemistry when they played together. It was a short window, but it was good enough to warrant a second look. Those two mixed with Sean Couturier could be a solid, balanced line for the Flyers. <\/p>\n

Who goes in goal remains a question, as Aleksi Kolosov played most of the game on Thursday. But I wonder if the Flyers want to see what he can do with a start between the pipes. The 24-year-old goalie allowed three goals on Thursday in about 38 minutes, but Rick Tocchet said after the game that he liked Kolosov\u2019s game. So, we\u2019ll see. <\/p>\n
