The Boston Bruins have activated defenseman Hampus Lindholm from Injured Reserve ahead of their road game Saturday night against the Chicago Blackhawks<\/a>. Lindholm has been out of the lineup since January 3 with an undisclosed injury, but had begun skating with the team the last few days.<\/p>\n

The 6-foot-4, 220-pound blueliner has three goals and 11 assists in 34 games for Boston. Lindholm underwent knee surgery for a fracture in the offseason but was available opening night. Lindholm missed ten days in October as well. Despite his injury issues, the Swede has averaged over 22 minutes per game.<\/p>\n

Lindholm will not play for Team Sweden in the upcoming Olympic Games. Boston has nine games remaining until the Olympic Break and is fighting for a Wild Card spot. Defenseman Billy Sweezey was sent to the Bruins\u2019 AHL affiliate, the Providence Bruins<\/a>, to make room for Lindholm.<\/p>\n
