Nashville Predators<\/a> forward Steven Stamkos<\/a> was fined $2,500 for unsportsmanlike conduct on Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Jeremy Lauzon, the NHL announced Jan. 18.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred at the 3:21 mark of the second period Jan. 17. On the play, after Lauzon hit winger Jonathan Marchessault into the Predators<\/a> bench, Stamkos appeared to jab Lauzon in the face with his stick.<\/p>\n

Stamkos was not penalized for the play during the game. The Golden Knights went on to beat the Predators 7-2, scoring five goals in the third period.<\/p>\n

As per the NHL and NHLPA’s collective bargaining agreement, the fine money will go into the NHL Players\u2019 Emergency Assistance Fund.<\/p>\n

Stamkos, 35, has 21 goals and 12 assists in 48 games for the Predators this season. He signed a four-year, $32 million contract with Nashville in 2024. He will be an unrestricted free agent in 2028.<\/p>\n
